Baytree House is an attractive and elegant Georgian property set in the historic High Street of the Artists' Town of Kirkcudbright, conveniently situated within easy walking distance to all Kirkcudbright's amenities and attractions. The High Street is no longer the town's main thoroughfare with no shops to speak of, but it is also home to the Tolbooth Art Centre, the High Street Gallery, Osborne's Antiques and the Scottish National Trust's Broughton House and Garden as well as the pleasant Castledykes Walk down to the Marina. The pretty cobbbled back streets, known locally as 'Closes' are lovingly adorned by residents with flowerpots and pretty furnishings. Other amenities and attractions are also within easy walking distance including Maclellan's Castle, The Stewartry Museum, Swimming Pool, Golf Course, Harbour, Tennis Courts, Bowling Club and all of the town's Churches with plenty of independent shops, cafes' restaruants and pubs also very close by. The coast and local beach at Dhoon Bay is withing a short drive away.
Baytree House has many of its original features including the grand and elegant drawing room with its high vaulted ceiling and marble fireplace and sweeping wrought-iron staircase. The guest rooms are generously equipped and all have bathrooms en suite. The bright and cheerful conservatory dining room has individual tables for two overlooking the pretty walled garden. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house and a loan of a laptop computer can be arranged if required.
